The Central Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society (COBSS) is a non-profit group of volunteers from the Central Okanagan area who are dedicated to providing financial assistance to our Grade 12 graduates in order that they may further their post-secondary education.
We accept and administer money from donors such as community or school groups, businesses, and individuals. Each year COBSS acts as a central body through which graduating Grade 12 students can apply for approximately 500 bursaries and scholarships. Criteria for these awards are set by the donor to recognize student achievement (for example: citizenship, scholastic achievement, athletic achievement), and to assist those who might find difficulty in financing further education.
These bursaries and scholarships are intended for students entering a college, university or other post- secondary institution in the coming year. In the past 14 years COBSS has distributed over $4.5 million to deserving graduating students from the Central Okanagan.
COBSS continues to promote support by community donors to assist students further their education and fulfill their vocational ambitions.
