Thank you for your continued support of students pursuing post-secondary education through your involvement with the Central Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society (COBSS). COBSS is a 47-year old non-profit organization made up of community volunteers and school counsellors, serving students both in public and private schools, from Mount Boucherie Secondary in Westbank to George Elliot Secondary in Lake Country.
The mandate of COBSS is to facilitate individuals, businesses, service clubs, or anyone who wants to provide financial support to high school graduates embarking on post – secondary education. Bursaries are allocated primarily on financial need, scholarships are distributed to those with outstanding achievement and awards are given based on a variety of criteria specified by the donor. COBSS proudly partners with the Central Okanagan Foundation (COF) to find just the right students for their awards.
Due to the generous contributions of donors, in 2018 COBSS allocated 533 awards, totaling over $446,000.00. Our goal is to reach $500,000.00 by 2020. Admittedly an ambitious goal, but the Central Okanagan Valley is growing at an unprecedented rate and our student population continues to grow and thrive. More students can and are staying local for their post - secondary schooling attending both UBCO and OC in greater numbers. The caliber of our schools is on par with any Canadian institutions.
If you know others who are interested in becoming donors, COBSS can be reached at the website: www.cobss.ca, by email: email@example.com or by telephone: 250.861.4980
Thank you again for your support.
